Welcome! I love nail polish and knitting but I’m sure you guessed that by the title of my blog. I’ll be sharing nail polish swatches and knitting projects here. I’d like to start this off with a post about me. My name is Kristen and I live in Boston, MA with my husband, Tommy and our cat, Rex. You might see the latter around here.

Back in 1999, I started getting acrylic overlays on my nails. Shortly after, I began collecting mainstream brands like OPI, Orly and China Glaze. It wasn’t until 2012 that I discovered indie nail polish. My first indie brands included pipe dream polish, Enchanted Polish, ILNP, and CrowsToes. My polish collection has grown considerably since then and I own more indie polishes than mainstream polishes now.

I started knitting in 2003. One of my co-workers was knitting in the lunch room and I commented to her that I wished I could knit. She responded simply, “You can do this. You just have to learn.” She offered to teach me so I bought a set of needles and some cheap yarn. She showed me the basics and shortly thereafter I was making scarves, dish cloths and baby blankets. I started with making easy, one-piece objects but my skills have progressed over the years. I’ve learned several advanced knitting techniques and I’ve even designed a couple of patterns.

I’m looking forward to sharing my love of nail polish and knitting. I hope you enjoy the content about which I will be writing. I appreciate any feedback or comments. Thank you for taking the time to read my very first post.
