Hello!
I know it’s been a while since my very first post and it wasn’t my intention to go so long without posting again. Right after I launched my blog, the holidays started and we all know how crazy those can be.
Today, I have some polishes to share that I purchased during the December Polish Pickup Pack sale. For those of you who don’t know about Polish Pickup Pack, head on over to the Facebook group and see what it’s all about! In a nutshell, there’s a monthly theme on which members get to vote. The makers create polishes from inspiration photos based on that theme and the polishes are offered for sale during the first weekend (Friday through Monday) of each month.
December’s theme was Holidays Around the World. These polishes were purchased by me and these are my honest reviews.
Anchor & Heart Lacquer – What Is a Pirate’s Favorite Letter?
This polish is a beautiful purple-red jelly with blue, purple and red shimmer. It also contains gold micro shreds and a bit of holographic blue micro glitter. My swatch shows two coats and no top coat because I really like the way it dried semi-matte.
B Polished – Witches’ Brew
This polish is a vampy purple base with tons of color shifting flakes and scattered holo. My swatch is two coats with a glossy top coat. Unfortunately, I have only one picture of this polish because I accidentally deleted the pictures from my memory card and my computer.
Bluebird Lacquer – For the Rest of Us
This polish is a gorgeous shade of classic Christmas red. It features scattered holo and tiny blue sparks. My swatch is two coats and a glossy top coat.
Blush Lacquer – Countdown Kiss
Here’s an eye-catching linear holo with a soft lavender flash. I see tiny color-shifting flakes in there, too. My swatch is two coats plus a glossy top coat.
Bohemian Polish – Krampusnacht
This polish is a vampy purple-red with red shimmer and linear holo. At first, I couldn’t decide between this one and “For the Rest of Us” because I thought they would be very close in person. I am so glad that I got both because they are very different but both are gorgeous. My swatch shows two coats and a glossy top coat.
Colors by Llarowe – Frohe Feiertage!
This polish is a soft shimmering nude with pink shimmer and scattered holo. Google tells me that Frohe Feiertage means Happy Holidays. I used two coats and a glossy top coat for these pictures. I need to try this polish as a topper over a dark base.
Contrary Polish – A Lapland Christmas
This one is a stunner! The soft gray/blue base! The pink and green shifting shimmer! The holo sparks! My swatch is two coats with a glossy top coat.
Polished for Days – Rockin’ Eve
This polish is a navy blue base with a copper/pink/green shimmer and holographic flakes. Holographic flakes seemed to be very popular this year in the indie polish world. I really love how they give a polish a “dirty” finish without hiding the base color. My swatch is two coats and a glossy top coat.
Quixotic Polish – Basant
Here is Basant. This polish is emerald green with a strong pinkish-red flash and gold shimmer. There’s a nice scattered holo in there, too. My swatch is two coats (though I should have done three) with a glossy top coat.
Stella Chroma – Karavaki
Karavaki is a black jelly base filled with small blue and silver holographic glitters. I absolutely love glitter bombs like this. They’re great on their own but can be used as a topper, too. Next time, I will try this over a one-coat black creme. My swatch is two coats and a thick glossy top coat.
Turtle Tootsie Polishes – Christmas in Rockefeller Center
This is a black jelly with a stunning purple shimmer with color-shifting flakes and green holo glitters. This is a very unique polish so I knew it would be a nice addition to my collection. My swatch is two coats and a glossy top coat.
I hope you enjoyed my reviews of these polishes. Comments and questions are always appreciated. Thank you for reading my blog.
Contrary Polish – A Lapland Christmas
Where can I get this??? I absolutely love this color!
